If you're a fan of handcrafted jewelry, you've probably heard of the newest hot commodity known as "Palomino turquoise". This rich stone sparkles with shades of yellow, green, and minty blues reminiscent of Sonoran Gold but in a milder shade.
While many are seeing this stone listed as turquoise, it's actually variscite, which is what gives it such a creamy, lustrous color. Variscite and turquoise are very closely related, with the only difference being that variscite doesn't contain any copper and therefore lacks the bolder blues you find in turquoise. This stone is gathered from the Sonora Mines in Mexico where you can also find Paloma, Sonoran Gold, Sonoran Mountain, and many other variants of turquoise and variscite alike.
Now that you know a bit more about Palomino variscite, this gorgeous necklace boasts 16 total Palomino stones set in thick fine silver on a sterling silver backplate. It features a hanging stone as well as 3 stones on each side of the chain. The necklace is finished to a high shine and sits at 22 inches in total length. The chain is a heavy sterling silver paperclip style that you can adjust as short as you prefer it!
This set also includes a matching set of Palomino earrings. Each earring features 3 Palomino stones set on sturdy but light-weight silver with large sterling silver earring backs to prevent any sagging.
This set is considered an heirloom piece, with no shortcuts taken to craft something worthy of passing down for generations to come.
